Organic Definitions
These definitions are from 9 CFR 205.2:
“Organic. A labeling term that refers to an
agricultural product produced in
accordance with the Act and the regulations in this
part.
Organic matter. The remains, residues, or waste
products of any organism.
Organic production. A production system that
is managed in accordance with the
Act and regulations in this part to respond to site-
specific conditions by integrating
cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that
foster cycling of resources,
promote ecological balance, and conserve
biodiversity.”
“The Act” in this case refers to the Organic Foods
Production Act of 1990, as
amended.
Organic Fragrances.
Premier will use
only the definitions
outlined for
Organic Flavors and
will use the 100% Organic Product unless requested
and specified to the contrary by a manufacturer
(customer).
